The meeting tonight has been cancelled because of poor weather.  Apologies to anyone we were not able to contact in time.

Rag Bag Bin

And here it is

Due to popular demand, we now have a permanent Rag Bag bin outside the school.  Use this bin to regularly clear out your old clothing, paired shoes, bags, hats, belts, towels, soft toys, curtains and bed linen.  (No pillows or duvets.)  All items must be clean and dry.


The school receives funds from this scheme - the more you donate, the more money we can raise.

Some goodies in the pipeline for Christmas

We are currently working on designs for an Auchinloch primary and nursery calendar and jute bag; both will be available in time for your Christmas shopping. 

School Calendar 2012
The school calendar has been a popular item in past years.  Each month will show a photograph or selection of images of the children, with an appropriate theme.  We are busy taking photographs just now and hope to preview the chosen images at the Race Night on November 4th.  Each child will appear in several photographs throughout the calendar.  The calendar will also include details of all key events and school holidays.


The calendar will be priced at £7, or 2 for £13.


Jute Bag
Last year's tea towel featuring self portraits of all the children was a huge success and they will, no doubt, continue to adorn the kitchens of parents and grandparents for years to come.  Following on from this theme we are producing Jute bags this year with artwork produced by all nursery and primary children.  A sample bag will be available for you to view at the Race Night and we are sure you will agree that these are very attractive and useful items, manufactured to a high quality.


The Jute Bag will be priced at £5.


We hope to include photographs of these items as soon as they are available.


Christmas Raffle
The Raffle prize this year will be a Christmas Dinner, with all the trimmings for you to cook in your own home.  The fresh turkey and trimmings (enough for 8-10 people) are kindly being donated by Paul's Quality Butcher.  Vegetables and a christmas pudding will be donated by Fruit Avenue, and champagne by the Bryson family.  Many thanks for all your generosity.


Raffle tickets will be priced at £5 each.

Race Night, Friday 4th November, 7pm

We are hosting a Race Night on Friday 4th November 2011 at 7pm to raise money for school funds.  This event has been very popular in previous years and we are hoping that this year will be our best yet. 


Make a night of it by bringing along your family and friends and some food and drink.  There will be various quizzes held throughout the evening in between races.


Tickets cost £5 each and are available from the school office.

School Uniforms Online Shop

We are pleased to announce that our online shop is now open.  The site, which is run by Mapac, supplies jackets, cardigans, sweat shirts and polo shirts embroidered with the school emblem. A small percentage of the value of each order goes to the school.

We're all feeling suitably pampered now

Our recent Pamper Night at the school raised an impressive £639.08.  Many thanks to the students and staff from North Glasgow College for their time and energy, and to all who came along to be pampered.  It was a most enjoyable night.

Pamper Night, Friday 25th March, 7pm

Now that the days are getting longer and the weather is improving, we think it’s time for a little bit of pampering to banish those winter woes.  With this in mind, on Friday 25th March we will be welcoming a group of Beauty Therapy students and teachers from North Glasgow College who have generously volunteered their time and materials to come along and offer a range of beauty treatments.

This promises to be a great social event, so please ask your family and friends along too.  A complementary glass of wine and nibbles will be offered, and you are welcome to bring along a bottle and food to enjoy in between treatments.

This is a Parent Council fundraising event and all proceeds go to the school.  To boost the funds, we are looking for male volunteers to come forward for a sponsored chest, back or leg wax.  We have one brave volunteer already.  Please get in touch if you are interested.

Tickets cost £2.50 each and are available in advance from the school office.  Treatments should be booked in advance, and are payable on the night.  The event starts at 7pm with the last bookings at 10pm.  Please let us know your preferred times and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Rag Bag Collection - Monday 7th Feb

As you'll have seen from the recent Parent Council Newsletter, we will be running another Rag Bag collection on Monday 7th February.  This time, in addition to clean clothing in any condition, the scheme is also accepting boxes of books.  The more you donate, the more we will receive so please have a clear out and give as much as you can.  You can drop bags and boxes off at the school on Friday 4th, as the collection will be very prompt on the Monday morning.
